Andre, Rest In Peace.

Working all shifts, holidays and days and nights during my career, I watched TV at sometimes strange hours and locations. Think emergency rooms, hospital rooms, jails, sheriff's offices and on and on.

It seemed that Andre Braugher was on TV an awful lot during my heyday. I remember canvassing a neighborhood. House to house you would see a portrait of MLK or a Velvet Elvis painting and Andre would be on the boob-tube.

I remember hearing that he had a stroke at a young age His TV character did, my bad. He certainly had an edge and demeanor that came across strongly and well on the screen. Again, RIP.

I especially liked him in "Homicide..." since it was shot where I grew up and I recognized many places. I also enjoyed his occasional Detective Pembleton forays into "Law and Order". I could listen to him talk all day long with that wonderful voice and diction. Age 61 is too young to go these days. RIP Andre.

Watching his character of Captain Holt banter with Chief Madeline Wuntch was classic.

(Madeline walks into Holt's office):

Holt- "Madeline, if you're here, whose guarding the gates of hell?"

A fine actor that I always appreciated in 'Homicide'.
Gone too soon.
Anyone know what killed him?

Rest in peace.

A lesson here is that one must be very vigilant about cancer. Caught early, lung cancer is very treatable.
