This question is directed towards those members that have/had carpal tunnel syndrome and rely on a cane for mobility.

Not quite 4 years ago, I had surgery for both carpal tunnel syndrome and cubital tunnel syndrome in both arms. Now, it seems as though carpal tunnel has reared it's ugly head, but more prominent in my right (dominant) hand. I use my cane in my right hand. It would appear as though the use of my cane has aggravated the carpal tunnel syndrome.

Has anyone here tried a cane with an orthopedic grip? If so, has the orthopedic grip seemed to alleviate the motion and pressure that has aggravated your carpal tunnel?

As always, thanks in advance for your help!

Regardless of your situation with a cane I would be asking the Md/ surgeon why the carpal tunnel has returned in just 4 years? That is presuming you do not use your hands and extensively. Have had 2 releases in Both wrists since the 80’s and the nerve moved near my elbow a few years ago. All is well now.

Greyman, I hear you. I am perturbed that the carpal tunnel returned so fast. This surgeon is not the one that performed the original surgery. In fact, that could be why the original surgeon is no longer with the practice! However, in fairness, the doctor that performed the electro-stim test volunteered that seeing a reoccurrance is not all that uncommon. This is not something that I want to repeat every 3 or 4 years!
