Northeast Ohio Bunch spring meeting
The Northeast S&W Bunch will be meeting on 2 Mar 2024 at the North Olmstead Sportsmen's Club, 5743 Bradley Rd., North Olmsted, Ohio 44070. Doors open at 9am. Easy access off the Ohio Turnpike, exit 10, or I-480.
Please bring a covered dish, a friend, and your favorite S&W. Eating utensils and soda will be provided along with a full kitchen for your covered dish. You will find treasures to buy, sell, and/or trade or just talk about S&Ws. We all learn something new and tell tales about something old! A donation of $5.00 is requested at the door.
I hope to see you there?

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY Then read again. If you ever thought of attending please join us for a fun day enjoying what we collect. Anyone from Ohio and neighboring states are welcome.
Directions, take the Stearns-Crocker exit off I-480 and go north. The first red light is Lorain rd, turn left. Go ABOUT a mile to Barton rd, turn right. The first stop sign is Bradley rd, turn right. The club is about 100 yards on the right. Tan building with a big gravel parking lot and a trap field.
Admission is 5.00 and Bring a “plate of food to share”, enough for 10-15 people. Be creative so we eat good food like we always do. All the plates, bowls, napkins, toothpicks and plastic silverware will be provided. Full kitchen cooking facility is available, oven, griddle, microwave and stove. Bring a friend if he likes S&W’s to share a ride. ***We need more main dishes and sides ***
Bring your ALL TIME FAVORITE S&W’s to display even if we saw them. Guns, boxes and accessories can be brought to sell. There are 20 8 ft tables available, first come first serve. If needed, we can crunch together. ***BRING a COMFORTABLE lawn chair for sitting***, the club chairs are hard plastic.
Security, while *talking* watch what is going on, if someone picks something up make sure he doesn’t walk out the door with it. Let me know and I will confront him. Nothing has been stolen in 12 years.
*Concealed carry* is allowed but KEEP the gun ***in its holster***. There is an unloading board on the wall if you need to unload it to show someone your gun. Don’t unload by your table, ITS UNSAFE. CLUB RULE
HOTELS, at exit 6a & 6b off of I-480, there are a bunch of hotels. This is one exit from where we meet, not real far. There are plenty of restaurants here also. You will have to choose your own place, this is a *safe area* to stay.
Hope we get some new members, 2 months away but will go fast. If any questions ask them HERE so everyone can see the answer. Enjoy life till we meet.
Hope we have a big crowd and gourmet food. I believe we are around 13 years of meetings twice a year, Larry

Just marked the date on my calendar. Although it is earlier than previous spring meetings, it may very well turn out to be a good thing. The weather probably won't be that great and it won't interfere with spring break or vacation plans. Hopefully we will have an excellent turnout.
I will try to put together a small display of some type. I haven't really added much to my collection lately, most of the long-standing members have seen the bulk of it.
Best regards, Bob.

Was planning on today but had to dig out, did groceries instead. Snowfall wasn't as deep as it looked. I'll try for Berea tomorrow. Looking for a K Square grip, open backstrap, no checkering or medallion. Also pre-lock revolvers.

Was there from 11 to noon. Viewed many but prices too high. Talked to DanT. Couple other 'bunchers' were there, found out e-mail notices will go out as the event get closer.

Denny,
Have fun at the Akron Show…I’ve attended it a couple times since I moved to SC.
It’s been a few years though…hopefully you find what you are looking for👍
Take a ride around the Tallmadge Circle for me …the original roundabout 🤣🤣

After the show I usually go to the circle and take the southeast avenue to Summit Racing Equipment, then back to the circle and hit the little A&W drive-in burger joint (female car hops) for good burgers and fries.
There also used to be a Manners Big Boy spot on the circle.
I think there's an older roundabout in Deerfield at Rts 14 & 224.

Nice trip south Denny, full of fun stops. Do you still drag race any? If interested in one of Browns Fan’s guns, PM him. I’m sure Rudy would meet up with you.
Pete, you are destined to move back here since you are so familiar with the area. You could take over the Bunch, Larry

That's a name I haven't heard in decades. Back in my skinnier and younger days I could eat three of those in one sitting.

We used to have 4 in the area, Lakeshore Blvd at Neff Rd, Euclid Ave at E.276, Euclid Ave near Noble Rd (just below Nela Park), & Euclid/Mentor Ave just east of Vine Street. All 4 were known for street racing action and female carhops.
Going way back to the late 60s', DanT and I would meet at the E.276 spot. We both had 65 Buick Skylark GranSports.

I think there must have been one on Mentor Avenue in Painesville, because I seem to remember eating them for lunch when I worked at Kroger's in the Painesville Shopping Center.

There's still 2 in the area, in Brookpark and in Valley View on Granger Rd just east of the Rt21 'cloverleaf'. I'll have to stop at that one during my next Broadview Hgts trip.

Went to the Akron show, was there from 11:30 to 12:30. Surprised by the large crowd as I don't normally go on Saturdays. Said hi to DanT and did other socializing. Found nothing, grips or S&Ws'.
Had to do some route re-routing on the way there because of the tanker truck accident/fire at I271/Rt.8. Probably about a 15 mile drive around.

Larry, I read that you picked up a Ruger #1 rechambered for .32 WCF. That is pretty neat! I have been loading my 1992 Winchester in that caliber for years. If you want I can get to you sme of my reloading dope for the .32 WCF. I am healing well after my hip replacement, and plan on being at the bunch on the 2nd of March. Have fun shooting you #1.

When e-mail notices start eventually to go out, post up if you get one.
I'm gonna have much un-common brass that I got from Kendall Ordnance and I'll list them after the e-mail notices go out/are received.

I went to the Gettysburg gun show today. It was pretty comfortable with the wide aisles. Reasonable gun prices could be found. I saw a nickel Model 27 that I would have liked but my credit card is laboring under the CMP Model 1911 I just acquired. But there were still reloading components prices in the stratosphere. I saw a couple vendors I've known for years and got in a mile worth of steps, and that's always good.

I got a Service Grade 1911A1 with a Colt frame and a Remington Rand slide, built in 1943. And both parts have what looks like an original blued finish. They don't look like they were stripped and parkerized. When the gun is in battery there is almost no movement between the slide and frame. I need to take it out to play with it and come back with a range report.

I received the email from Gary a couple of days ago. I'm guessing everyone on the email list should have as well.
I am hoping to attend. Work has slowed down substantially and we are down to first shift only. Quite an adjustment after 35+ years on night shift. On the bright side, at least I won't be up all night attending with no sleep!!
I am planning to bring a small display. More than likely my 2 5/8" Performance Center revolvers. These are known as the UDR's or PCDR's or Bloodwork revolvers.
Looking forward to it!!
Best regards, Bob.

You all have fun
Unfortunately I’m not able to attend this Bunch Gathering.
I’ve spoken with Eric and he plans to attend.
I guess you all will have to wait until the fall meeting to see those model 27’s I’ve been accumulating 🤣🤣
Heck I might even have a couple more early 29’s by then👍
Pete

Went down to Kendall Ordnance, on the way back stopped at 'Big Boy' on Grainger Rd.
Pics are for 'Golddollar', in reference back to post #19.

Now that the e-mail notices have gone out, I can post this. I'm gonna have un-common brass for reloading, none of the common 380acp, 9mm, 40S&W, 45acp, 223/5.56, 308/7.62. What I'll have is,
32H&R Mag, 32S&W Long, 357Rem Max, 221Rem Fireball, 22Hornet, 225Winchester, 243Winchester, 6mmRem, 250Savage, 260Rem, 6.5Creedmore, 7mmMauser, 7mm-08, 270Weatherby Mag, 270Win, 300Savage, 280Rem, 284Win, 308Marlin Express, 307Win, 300PRC, 300Rem SA Ultra Mag, 300Weatherby Mag, 300RCM Ruger Compact Magnum, 300H&H Mag, 308Norma Mag, 338Win Mag, 375Win, 7mmRem Mag, 7mmRem Ultra Mag.
Some quantities small, some many, various conditions new & fired.
After the 'bunch', whatever's left is being shipped to Oklahoma to a brass buyer.
If there's something you want but can't make the upcoming bunch, let me know and I don't mind holding it till the next bunch.
I'll also have 38sp de-primed, sized, SS pin tumbled, ready to reload at a good price of $.10 each in Federal, WCC Mil, & LC Mil. The Mil ones have primer crimp chamfered out.
For reference, Starline at FFF is $.21 each in bags of 100. Starline is $.16 each in lots of 1000.

No, just what's listed.
Lot of brass, yes, but more importantly a large variety.

Upcoming weekend is Berea and Mansfield. Did the last Berea show, didn't like the 'new building arrangement'. Been a couple years since I did Mansfield, so I'll do it, and stop at FFF Ashland on the way home.

Thanks Strawhat for the brass today. Gives me a good supply now and should have enough to last my lifetime. Liked your office at Heinens, Larry

Anyone at Berea today, wondering how crowded it was with the scattered snow bursts around.
I was close at Pearl & Bagley at a grandson’s basketball game but went home after (11am). Didn’t feel like walking around with nothing I’m looking for. Just wanted to get home and stay warm, have a 1911 I wanted to put back together. New trigger, Larry
