Hello All,

I'd bet there aren't many people here that would disagree with me when I say that one of the reason people *collect* S&Ws is because they are beautifully finely tuned machines. Can I even say works of art? There. I did!

What I was wondering is, since I've noticed a collector's job is really collecting, what else do you collect?

Personally I go for knives (probably a pretty common one. goes well with the guns!), fountain pens (seen a few of those in some of your pics out there. always classy!), acoustic and electric guitars. The only thing I can't seem to collect is enough money to satisfy all the desires!

Anyone else? I've got a hankering to go after some watches and key fobs.

Any pics?

Mike

Books for one. I collect first person military books. The earliest I have dates to the 1840's. Many were privately published so there are probably only a few copies still existing.

I also collect post cards bottles and trade tokens from my home town.

I'm with QBALL!
I also collect straight razors and Gillette double edge razors made before 1950.
And like all my guns.
I use all of them.
In fact ,after getting into collecting razors and everything that goes along with keeping them sharp( strop-pastes-hones)
Shaving is a hobby now!

I collect milsurp rifles of various makes. I prefer pre-WW1 rifles but, like others, too.

Also have every Budwieser christmas stein except for the very first.

Comic books used to be of interest but, stopped about 10 years ago.

Actually, early 20th/late19th white oak Mission style furniture, classic mystery novels and stories, and, although they are accumulated more than collected, boxes and boxes of holsters by famous companies that fit my S&W collection.

I've just recently started collecting pint glasses from places I've visited. Just thinking the other day I need to take some pictures. Guess I have a reason now.

Antique European edged weapons. Also have some American and German bayonets. Was lucky enough to become friends with the curator of the Belguim War Museum and picked up a number of Napoleonic weapons, 1st and 2nd Empire.

Hey Shoo - welcome to the club!! X number 1 is still costing me money, and X number 2 was kind enough to let me of the hook easy. Number 3 is a keeper (I hope).

I randomly accumulate guns.

Collection wise, I not so randomly accumulate older plastic toy soldiers (1940s to 1980s), 12" GI Joes (98 to present) and UFO books.

My wife passed three years ago, this is what she collected. Tatting shuttles, over 150 styles and materials. These are used to hand make lace, similiar to making fishing nets. I don't suppose they are of much interest to the guys on here, but maybe to some of the lady forum members. They are constructed of many materials, including gold, silver, brass, steel, wood, abalone shell, celluloid, bone, ivory and plastic. Tatting is called a lost art, however there is still quite a bit of interest in it.

I also collect a few old Winchester .22s.
