My first thought when they said "unspecified abdominal surgery" was a hysterectomy, and possible ovarian cyst. When my wife had that surgery some 20+ years ago it took her a long time to recover, since her cyst was huge and they could not do the procedure with laparoscopy. If so, then she isn't going to be feeling too chipper for some time. At the same time, she should be allowed her privacy, and some space.

Velveeta. Always Velveeta.

And to add insult to injury, the alleged Rose Hanbury affair has re-emerged to accompany Photoshopgate.

I'm not saying anything about you for pointing this out to me, I'm saying the entire situation is blue-ribbon, over-the-top, pan-galactic ridiculous! Too many people to count have edited their own and/or their kids pictures before putting them up online to go crazy about what another mom does just because she's famous. Seriously, if her name were Kate Jones and she lived in East Cupcake, West Virginia then we'd all be yelling about her rights to medical privacy if she chose to hide a medical issue in a photo.
I'm not sure which is worse - people obsessed with the rich and famous for no apparent reason, or the people who are constantly suspicious of someone simply BECAUSE they are rich and famous. Like leftover fish, both the overly-obsessed and the conspiracy theory crowd are fast wearing out their welcome.

Must have been a really slow news week for those reporters. Some of them just had way too much time on their hands. I'm still trying to figure out why anyone would care.

Like Grandpa like grandson. Prince Phillip was allegedly a skirt chaser extraordinaire in his younger days and was tied to at least a half-dozen women other than Queen E II. Not sure if there is anything to the Marquessa of Cholmondeley rumors or not. She doesn't look very hot to me. Of course, neither was Queen Camilla.

Just saw her video where she explains she had abdominal surgery for cancer.
May God bless Princess Katherine.

Whether you like “The Firm” (the monarchy)or not pray for her recovery. She is a mother of young children and seems to be a lovely woman. I wish cancer on no one.

So, after all the worldwide speculation and pressure put on her, now they want to "respect her privacy". Once we know all your secrets, we'll respect your privacy.

So far, the nature of her cancer is "undisclosed." But there is some indication she has been receiving chemotherapy for over a month. The news release wording suggests that the cancerous tissue was completely removed and the chemo is just to be sure.
Many people with cancer do survive after post-operative treatment such as chemo and radiation. About five years ago my wife had about half of one lung removed and went through long term radiation treatment. So far, non recurrence. But she was fortunate that her cancer was discovered very early. And that early discovery was purely by accident.

Abdominal surgery sometimes requires the patient to have an ileostomy or ostomy procedure. It can be temporary or permanent.
I wouldn't want to wish this on my worst enemy.
I pray for her as we don't know the extent of her condition or suffering.
