My wife follows the royal family. She's not retired yet, so I often forward stuff I see to her email so she can look at it when she gets home from work. The UK papers (and a couple of US news sites) are going absolutely nuts about what seems to me to be a trivial, nit-picking affair. I have trouble thinking anything beyond "So What" and "Get a Life", but this affair seems to be a real crisis for our cousins across the pond. The way the journalists in the UK are approaching it, you'd think they think they're Woodward and Bernstein of Watergate fame.

I like the Princess a Prince. They seem quite dignified and class acts.

There are tons of speculation on the internet about why an obviously doctored photo (possibly taken well before her abdominal surgery) was released for Mother's Day. The supposition being that Kate looks too bad after surgery to release a current photo, and the photo released is really a coverup of how serious her surgery was. That does not make a great deal of sense because If that was the reason, I am certain the Royal photographer, sworn to secrecy, could have photoshopped an older picture in a professional way so that it could not have been detected. Or, even easier, just not release a Mother's Day picture at all. The Royal PR staff are certainly sharp enough to come up with a plausible reason for not releasing one. So No one has a clue why a badly photoshopped picture would have been released. And that is the reason for the furor.

No real crime, just an unexplained mystery.
I have seen a couple of surgeons interviewed on TV regarding their opinions as to what kind of surgery it was. They thought, based on what little information has been released, bladder cancer. But they were not anywhere close to the OR.
Not sure whether Ivan the Butcher's or ACORN's reaction best expresses mine, but between them they exhaust what I have to say about the subject.
They are about as royal as a South Carolina Redneck....None of them work...they live(mooch) of their taxpayers....People need to wake up.

If I recall what I learned in my history class correctly there was a war fought over two hundred years ago so that we don't have to care about what the royals do or don't do.
The UK is America's oldest and strongest ally.
