With all due respect maybe you should do some exploring.

We live in the USA. Every day we see what goes on. We KNOW, based on our own personal lives.

Then, we see what FOX News says. OMG, they must be telling the truth.

Then, we listen to the liberal media. OMG, where do THEY live.

Then, we listen to the govt. speeches and it is opposite of Fox and our lives.

Somebody is lying to is. Who could it be?

Roswell, Kennedy, yada yada. Has the govt EVER tell the truth?

A true democracy is the only system of government that can’t kill you if you disagree with the leader. It’s about the rule of law. Putin and others don’t abide by democracy constraints.

You are either researching in the wrong place or you have a very low bar when it comes to you idea of gun ownership freedoms. It takes a MINIMUM of 5 years to get a permit to own anything beyond a shotgun and then only after being approved by a government doctor. There is no right to carry for your own protection unless you have been declared a "Hero of the State", which is a bit like winning a Medal Of Honor. You can get a permit to carry a gun that will only fire rubber bullets. There is however, a very brisk black market in illegal guns, which are mostly pilfered from the military. I seem to remember reading a while back that Putin was forming a division of the Russian version of the National Guard to go around searching for guns but I haven't seen anything in a while. They also tightened up on allowing hunting guns after someone shot up a school with a shot gun. Saying that it's easier to get a legal gun in Russia that ANYPLACE in the US is just hyperbole.

Your right on a few of your facts. But to clear the air in case anyone else is curious this a quick breakdown on how to own a weapon.

The Youtube is wrong.

To get a gun license in Russia you need certificates from medics, including a psychiatrist and ophthalmologist, and you have to complete a course on safe handling of weapons. You must then get a special safe to store the weapon and have it inspected by police, BBC Monitoring reported in 2018.

But there is a large black market in guns - partly fueled by the eastern Ukraine conflict - and illegal guns are bought on the dark web, usually with cryptocurrency.

I'm actually going to visit Russia hopefully next year. since the war began 2 years ago. I've been doing a lot of research on Russia. and found a lot of similarities between the US and Russia. for one it's easier to buy and own firearms legally than most blue states here in the US. that would include AK's, AR's, and other wicked looking weapons. I wouldn't be surprised if they're isn't some S&W collections there.
also a lot of my research comes from watching YouTube, and documentaries on Russia and from residents, ex-pats and even veterans on the pros and cons of living in Russia. as well on X Twitter with people who live in Russia. I have a co-worker who is a loud talking, Russian born, who sends me texts with comments and pics that must be taken directly from the soldiers themselves on the battlefield (and I mean uncensored pics). they also don't have hundreds of military bases around the world.(waste of taxpayer money)
I've also listened to several of Putin's speeches, press conferences and find the man is very educated, measured, and very intelligent.
and any leader getting reelected to a 3rd term as president with an 87% win in a record election turnout has to be doing something right.
they also have a very healthy religious freedoms too, christian, Muslim, orthodox Jewish just to name a few. they also have very pro family policies in place making it easier to raise families
so I would respectfully disagree with some of the views others may have about Russia.

my plan is to travel across the country by the trans Siberian railway and find out for myself.

I'm curious if anybody here has been to Russia. would like to hear about some of their experiences.

Bryce
I lost his email- maybe you can find it, but there is a guy named Eddie Snowden that I think can help you out.
He loves it there. Swears by it. Said he'd never ever come back to the USA.

Meanwhile, back in Moscow, putin ignored a warning from the US of the impending terrorist attack at the concert. He instead used the warning as an opportunity to blame the US and Ukraine to justify his war. It's no wonder he won another term as supreme leader with 87% of the vote, he's definitely a man of the people, and has their best interest in mind.

A real good friend and union brother worked in Moscow for a couple years. He was working on the new American embassy. For security reasons they had to have very well vetted people do that work.

He told me the US paper work was bad, the stuff Russia wanted was ridiculous. He finely got his clearances and off he went to make some big money. They were told no fraternization with the Russians but things happen. From a few of the stories he told it appeared that each American worker had at least one person assigned to cover him any time he was off the work site.

He did the paper work necessary to do a little light traveling. He did say that you had to have "internal passports" to go from what in our country would be counties or states.

From what he could talk about when he got home was that it was a major difference between the way the two countries operate!

I don't know about Canadia, but for here that map is fantasy posing as fact. More than half the people in this country pay no federal income tax. 20% of the people here pull 78% of the load. It isn't sending a fraction of what we spend a year overseas that forces people into poverty, because the poor aren't paying for it, they are on the receiving end. And finally, I don't want to even imagine what the world would be like today if we didn't do what we do.

So should we let the Houthis take over the Red Sea and save a couple of bucks?
