This morning March 27 2024
I have this everchanging view out my window all day, every day, but I thought this morning was special and wanted to share my joy. Even though we have 40" snow on the ground I am bugging out on Saturday to Colorado Springs to pack up and sell my house of 24 years. This is going to take a while  Then downsize to something on this side of the divide, with a plowed road, as a retreat when I can't stay here at the cabin. Your special views are invited.
One more ride tomorrow to the end of the road, around 60-mile roundtrip, then call it a season. Maybe edits with pics. Sad/happy.

Thats gorgeous!!! Good luck on the house sale. Id keep the cabin till they drag me out!
Brother is in Divide was homebound for a few days after last storm.

It's a stump. Fools me once in a while, too, until I put the binoculars on it. The tracks in the lower right belong to Cinco the Border Collie making his morning perimeter patrol.

If my will stands up, the cabin stays in the family forever, or at least until I don't care anymore. Yeah, the Divide area really got blasted. It'll be interesting to drive through on Saturday.

Do you have utility provided power/electricity where you are? In the photo it looks really remote...

Yes, we have rural electric, a well, septic, wood heat, and StarLink. It's 6 miles to a plowed road where I leave the truck, utilizing a snowmobile or Polaris Ranger with tracks to get in and out. Then another 30 miles to Gunnison. Just got back from a 55-mile roundtrip snowmobile ride to the end of the road. It was glorious. One last hurrah for the year. I'm beat! Been here 8 years now full-time.
