There certainly is truth in #1,  , #4 could explain a lot of things,  .
I have actual experience with #5 . On the morning of Easter Sunday, 1952 or '53, our cat brought the "Easter Bunny" home! We found the deceased rabbit on the front porch that morning. This wasn't in a rural setting as you might suppose, it was in a brand new residential sub-division in Omaha, NE.

#5 We had a tomcat who thought nothing said love like the gift of rabbits. Later I worked in a grain elevator and the shop cat would leave headless rats on the boss' desk. I'm a dog man, but you gotta love a hunting cat.
