Default Login PROBLEMS

We have upgraded to a secure site.
That means the forum address is DIFFERENT!

Old Address:
http://smith-wessonforum.com

New Address:
https://smith-wessonforum.com

1 > You need to delete all cookies for smith-wessonforum.com
2 > You need to delete temporary files. You don't need them. You won't miss them. They might be causing you problems. If you don't know how, Google "Delete temp files from <put YOUR browser name here>"
3 > The new address means your automatic login that is saved in your browser won't work. It won't work because you are hunting a new address. You need to DELETE that saved login and redo it for the new address. CLEAR cookies and temporary files BEFORE you save the new login.
4 > You need to add the "s" to the address for your BOOKMARK (https). If you don't know how to edit a bookmark, just delete it and create a new bookmark.
5 > ALWAYS click "Remember Me" when you login.

I did as instructed but still had a problem until I "checked" Remember Me before clicking on Log In.

I stay logged in, I think, meaning I just click the icon and here I am. Should I sign out then back in? I’m having no problem whatsoever on anything (any device) so I guess I’m okay so far?

I've done everything suggested above, I think, but am still having problems. No issues signing in but I get kicked off every time I move to a new thread. Any ideas?

You may find that if you move quickly enough to a new thread that you are able to stay in, but if you stop to read something it will kick you out again. Mine will kick off after only about 40 seconds of inactivity. This forum has always done that but before the upgrade it took longer, more like five or ten minutes.

Now, be sure that you click "remember me" so that you will install the cookie that keeps you in for a longer period.
-Follow each step in deleting old cookies and old temp files.
-Check that you use the https address only.
-click the remember me box right beside where you put in your user name and password.

Hope it works for you as it did for me.

Kind regards,
BrianD

Thanks, I think I got it figured out. The problem seems to have resolved when I cleared the old address and re-entered the new secure address.

I'm having the same problem. I cleared cache. When I launch TaT, I get a list of subscribed threads showing unread posts. But, when I click on a thread, it will not open showing an endless loading icon.

Same here.
I followed the instructions many times thinking I had missed as step. No luck at all. Then I clicked the magic box and problem solved.

-------------- Added Later ----------------------------
I logged out and rebooted my pc, then logged back in. The result was that I went back to getting kicked out over and over again.

So I signed in again and checked the "Remember Me" box, and now all is well. I guess I need to check it EVERY TIME I LOG IN.

There is a difference between your 'User Name' and your 'Email Address' , about 2 hours of failure to read or notice the "Name".

One thing I do notice is that when I forget to check the remember me box only half of the pictures in the gallery at the top show up. The rest are blank.

Interesting. I thought my old computer was causing all the problems.

Thanks!
