Does Elmer Fudd get his boomstick back??

Dexter (our dog) will be looking forward to it. He’s got some separation issues. We leave the Cartoon Network on tv when he’s home alone. For whatever reason it seems to keep him calm. I think his favorite is “Work it out Wombats”. But he’d probably love Tom and Jerry.

Will the Hillbillies....

... in Bugs Bunny actually be able to fire their (very) long guns that shake like an earthquake before the bullet comes out?

I watched this episode with all the 'violence' cut out and it made no sense at all.

It had better have Mighty Mouse and Heckle & Jeckle.

One of my neighbors has matching black standard poodles. I was walking my dog the other day and the poodles came rushing up to the fence to say howdy. The owners young grandchildren were out in the yard playing.

When the poodles got up to the fence I said “HELLO Heckle and Jeckle!” One of the man’s grandkids ran in to his grandpa and told him, “a man is calling your dogs ugly names.” Grandpa asked “what?” The little fellow said “Heckle and Jeckle.” Grandpa howled and came out to tell me when we made our next loop.

I pulled out my phone and googled up a Heckle and Jeckle cartoon to show them. The Grandpa told me the other day that the grandkids can’t stop watching Heckle and Jeckle now.

The cable channel Boomerang used to show a lot of the old, non-pc, cartoons after 9pm. Many of them were one-offs rather than a Bugs Bunny type series. There is one of a skunk looking for love (no, not Pepe Le Pew) that is absolutely hysterical, especially the bit with the instant theatre and the Frankie Suit. I first saw that one during an impromptu cartoon show one Christmas when the news was slow. Yes, British TV used to do that. I was staying with an aunt and we were both crying with laughter, probably missing lots of other subtle gags.

Boomerang used to be excellent with showing a bevy of classic Hanna-Barbera cartoons prior to revamping their programming lineup in the late 2000s. I look forward to seeing this channel's show listings. Hopefully some of the MGM Tex Avery shorts are included along with the WB stuff too! - Who Killed Who? (1943) is one of my absolute favorites.

I will happily admit that on many occasions, when I am up by 7am, I will watch cartoons on MeTV. Same thing on Saturday from 7-10am. To me, vintage cartoons are GREAT! One thing that I don’t understand (I don’t have any kids), is that my niece’s and nephew’s kids, who are all under 8 years old, don’t like my type cartoons at all! They watch Paw Patrol, Bluey, and sometimes Sponge Bob Square Pants.
