Default Happy hour in San Francisco

I wonder if they provide peanuts and pretzels. I understand that the Bay Area nursing schools are adding bartending courses to their curriculms. SF Program Isn'''t Just '''Free Beer''' for Unhoused. It'''s Backed Up by Research | KQED

What happened to good old-fashioned panhandling to fund your daily Wild Irish Rose ration?

So they 'treated' 55 people in the last 4 years, at a cost of 5 million a year, and have saved 1.7 million in the last 6 months by not having these people go to the emergency room. Typical pie in the sky California thinking.

Why do I get the feeling that if there were homeless vampires, someone in CA would suggest we feed them and provide them with daytime shelters?

Sounds like a job creation scheme to me, but America is very good at that game. Just look at all the snouts that appear at the trough when you want to buy or sell a home.

I have seen different things - beer, vodka, and wine. Could be any or all. I guess that is left up to the nurse/bartenders. Apparently admission to the premises is very limited. Some reporters tried to get in to find out more of the story but were barred from entering. What I wondered was if after the "open bar" closing time, why can't the homeless just go out on the streets and find more booze the way they always have done?
