Weird “rainbow”
I caught this rainbow-like thing over top of the East Liberty section of Pittsburgh. It’s kinda cool, but I’ve never seen one like it. This is pretty much East/Southeast of me, sunset off to the far right of me. I think I have a recent real rainbow picture I’ll share if I can. And Angel checking it out! Gotta have a pet involved!

I think that’s aurora borealis in your first two. But I am no astronomer.
PS, good looking hound!

Yeah, we get many doubles and triples. When we first moved in, I had double rainbows above my house, but the arches were backwards; sort of like a big M. I run across the picture sometimes when I’m messing around down the cellar. Years back, I left town to go home, when I lived up West of Zelienople. I always drove across the bridges going over the confluence forming the Ohio River. Without wrecking I was able to count 5 very clear rainbows. Nature is cool.

Seen that before in my area, years ago. First is rain with the low sun, then as the sun angle becomes better, it turns into a rainbow. A rainbow under a low cloud is rare. Usually they happen under high rain clouds in brighter light.

I didn't see any rain, but it was way over there. I was trying to listen to the rhythm of the falling rain...

Errm, there's a curtain of it in the center of the picture coming down from the cloud. It might be virga, precip from the cloud that doesn't reach the ground.

Secondary rainbows are very common. I have noticed them almost every time a rainbow is visible. Sometimes you need to look very hard above the original rainbow.
