One of my facebook feeds is a group from Pass Christian MS. A more conceited bunch of privileged, self entitled Karens you will never see. I enjoy the ramblings about "Muffy doing this" or "Trevor doing that". Kinda like a bunch of self appointed morality Association for the whole city. So I came across one Karen moaning about people flicking their cigarette butts out of open windows, which BTW is a MAJOR pet peeve of mine.
Anyway I was feeling evil so I posted my reasoning as to why people flick their butts out of their window:

"They don't make cars with ashtrays anymore. You want the smoker to snub them out of the dashboard? Plus ya gotta keep the window open so the baby in the back seat doesn't inhale any second hand smoke. It's been proven to be dangerous."

I suspect my little thingy at the top saying I have messages will shortly begin blowing up

This happened many years ago. My little daughter is now a grandmother.
I too used to smoke. I too used to throw my butts out the car window. One day it came back into the car and set my daughters blanket smoldering.

To this day I think about that with guilt.

I didn't say anything about smokers, but I did say something about the Lefty Millennials and then it sorta blew up. Got banned for 6 months. Didn't miss a thing and didn't regret it either.

I admire you guys, I don't have enough BP Meds to get on Face Book.

I keep getting dinged because I read a news story that somebody shared and I comment that this person needs his *** whipped , or those protestors should be run down , etc. Apparently that " Violates Community Standards " .
Whatever ..

After I was banished 8 years ago from a major news site's comment section I saw the futility of tilting at windmills.

I've had a FB account for a long time. I only use it to touch base with friends and acquaintances from the music biz.

I no longer engage with crazies who's only mission in life is to knot knickers.

My knickers remain unknotted.

I do not have and cannot think of any reason to have Facebook or most other platforms of that ilk. I was not put on this planet to be tolerant of weak dullards and their snowflake mindset. I have enough frustration with dealing with supposed prosecutors who buy the SJW garbage and get all weepy when I refer to the criminally feral as such. Most of them need to have an up close encounter with Ermey's dictum from Full Metal Jacket.

As for Caje getting into a platform jail, here is my (not) shocked face.

Fifteen or so years ago Mrs. swsig and I joined FB so we could keep up with our grandkids. Well, our grandkids are pretty smart and saw what a vast wasteland FB is, and they quickly abandoned it. We continued our account because some of Mrs. swsig's friends were on it. However most of their posts were simply "likes" for Hobby Lobby, Bed Bath & Beyond, Target, etc. We concluded that FB was mostly garbage and wasn't worth the few worthwhile posts we found, and we cancelled our account long ago. It doesn't sound like things have improved very much since then.

I would also request a change be implemented where after hitting the "submit reply" button the response is "Are you sure?".

I haven't been on FB in so long I forgot what my password is..........And that's OK.

Once upon a time I let the extended family talk me into getting a Facebook account. I rarely used it. Then somebody hacked my account and used it to spread a virus. I immediately deleted my account and have never gone back. I refuse to be held responsible for what some other miscreant does.

Speaking of Willie’s offspring, I just recently realized that a singer I likes was Willie’s son - Lukas.

Better than being a facebook favorite. Like being at the cool table at the insane asylum.

I don’t book, face, twit, x, nor gram. I’ll join a forum or two for specific interests, and that’s about it.

The internet makes it too easy for folks to display ignorance and bad manners.

That was my first thought.
But then I wasn’t sure if it was Paula or Sunny Sweeney.

Caj, I quit smoking 50 years back come Aug. My 2007 Ranger is as clean as hounds tooth. By the way, what is this FB thing? I get something about it but never reply. Might be dangerous.

I don't log into FaceBook, or post enough of my opinions on FaceBook to get dinged by their censorship machine.

As a social media platform, FaceBook is just an easy & convenient way for me to keep tabs on what my geographically-scattered family are doing.

It works quite well for me for that VERY specific purpose. I have no interest in using the platform for anything more than that.

FWIW: Only 11.5% of Americans smoke. Not much need for ashtrays. I used to keep quarters there for tolls but they're all electronic now.

Not much use for quarters anymore it seems . The other day my wife wanted to wash a large comforter so she decided to go to a brand new laundromat not too far away . She said that all of the machines are connected to a main kiosk where you pay by card and enter the washer or dryer number . She said it worked well .
Even the parking meters downtown are electronic pay now .

My only FB friends are my wife and my sister, and I'm only on there so my sis and I can share funny stuff. We're on the same page, politically speaking, so we text political memes all the time.

FB - I had an account when it first came out. Then all the people I didn't like or want anything to do with started sending friend requests, so I decided to delete my account. Guess what - no deleting all you can do is deactivate it. I still get reminders to reactivate the account. The only good thing I have heard about it is the marketplace is a nice platform to sell or buy used items, still not enough of a motivator to get me back on.

Caj, my dad used to lament about how smokers treat the world as their ashtray, which to some extent is true.

Never been on or had a FB account. Although I do look around on marketplace sometimes. My buddies wife once told me how many friends she had on fb. I asked how many of them would help her move a refrigerator on Saturday morning? No reply. I said I guess they’re not really friends then.

I don’t nave a Facebook account - never have. Also no Tik Tok, X, Instagram, Snapchat, Linkedin, Pinterest, Truth Social or anything else. Makes life much more harmonious.

facebook seems to have gone from face book jail, to just overwhelming ya with ads. Occasionally they attempt to fact check me, which usually gets blown right back at them as their "factcheckers" are just political hacks.

I'm banned for life. I know why, too and am not apologizing.
I consider it one of my greatest accomplishments and am proud of it!
