September 7th is our next meeting from 8am to 3pm. Admission is 5.00. Please bring a plate of food to share for maybe 10-15 people. We get a lot of chips & pastries which are overwhelming at times. Ask the wife for an idea on a plate of something being a main dish or side dish or finger foods. Please bring a friend to share the day with us.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY Then read again. If you ever thought of attending please join us for a fun day enjoying what we collect. Anyone from Ohio and neighboring states are welcome.

Directions, take the Stearns-Crocker exit off I-480 and go north. The first red light is Lorain rd, turn left. Go ABOUT a mile to Barton rd, turn right. The first stop sign is Bradley rd, turn right. The club is about 100 yards on the right. Tan building with a big gravel parking lot and a trap field.

Admission is 5.00 and Bring a “plate of food to share”, enough for 10-15 people. Be creative so we eat good food like we always do. All the plates, bowls, napkins, toothpicks and plastic silverware will be provided. Full kitchen cooking facility is available, oven, griddle, microwave and stove. Bring a friend if he likes S&W’s to share a ride. ***We need more main dishes and sides ***

Bring your ALL TIME FAVORITE S&W’s to display even if we saw them. Guns, boxes and accessories can be brought to sell. There are 20 8 ft tables available, first come first serve. If needed, we can crunch together. ***BRING a COMFORTABLE lawn chair for sitting***, the club chairs are hard plastic.

Security, while *talking* watch what is going on, if someone picks something up make sure he doesn’t walk out the door with it. Let me know and I will confront him. Nothing has been stolen in 13 years.

*Concealed carry* is allowed but KEEP the gun ***in its holster***. There is an unloading board on the wall if you need to unload it to show someone your gun. Don’t unload by your table, ITS UNSAFE. CLUB RULE

HOTELS, at exit 6a & 6b off of I-480, there are a bunch of hotels. This is one exit from where we meet, not real far. There are plenty of restaurants here also. You will have to choose your own place, this is a *safe area* to stay.

Hope we get some new members, 1 1/2 months away but will go fast. If any questions ask them HERE so everyone can see the answer. Enjoy life till we meet.

Thanks Denny for the Hostas, doing good this year with the extreme heat and being directly in the sun. The hose is my Polish soaker hose. Tried to put it in the center of the plants and then drilled a hole in the hose where each plant is. The faucet is turned on very lightly so the water trickles out and soaks into the soil. Using a watering can, the water just flows away from the plant not reaching the roots. Wasting water. Polish ingenuity , Larry

For all the NE Ohio 'bunchers' that have seen this thread but have not posted OR issued a 'like', do a 'like' on Larry's post #1, that way we can find out who has not yet aware of the upcoming 'bunch' and those that at least has seen it. We need to find out who we'll need to send out PM notifications to. If the standard 'bulk e-mail notice' is not done, we'll have to start doing individual PM notices, which would occur about 4 weeks prior to the event. So post up or do a 'like'. I've got a list,so far, of 26 PMs to send out.

Pete, just looked at the pictures of the smoked meat. Good idea to cut the meat like you did to get the flavor inside. Guess we always find someone smarter, Larry

Not sure if it adds any more flavor or not?
Just score through the fat cap on the one side and rub in the dry rub the night before. Wrap in plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator.

Looking forward to seeing some new faces as well as the old ones.

Still 6 weeks to go, doesn't appear that 'shootgood'/Gary will be doing the 'bulk e-mail' notices as he's done recently. I've gone thru the last 8 'bunch' threads and got 32 'usernames' that I'll be sending PM notices to. I'll be doing that when/with 4 weeks to 'bunch' time.

I will be there. Might bring my Model 29s for display.

All you Bunchers check around and see if you know someone to help out with mass emails twice a year. I have the email Matt sent me with attachments in it if someone knows electronics well enough to send something out. It could be real simple, September 7th is the next S&W Bunch. Larry

Venison sloppy joes and/or "sticky" baked beans...the "sticky" baked beans will be a nice compliment to Pete's smoked pulled pork...

It looks like my display will be 11 revolvers and 4 pistols, all S&Ws'.

Ohio sales tax holiday July 30 thru Aug 8 for items under $500.00.
Gonna go to FFF for ammo, along with on sale and sales tax free. CCI 22lr Mini-mag, Rem 38sp, and Rem 357M, and who knows what else.

I have the date saved in my calendar, I just can’t commit yet.

Got 2 Bob’s that posted we hope to see September 7th. Also Joe with the reconditioned presentation cases, hope you all make it.

I may go to Chet’s and get some macaroni and potato salad to side with the smoked meat and venison. Will check with Eric to see what he’s gonna do.

Went to visit a friend my wife worked with yrs ago Sunday evening. Her son was visiting from Alabama, big S&W revolver lover. He will be back early September and I invited him to join us and I believe he will come. He was excited to hear of a group of S&W enthusiasts. Told him he could ride with me or follow me to NOSC.

I heard a rumor Bob R from Philadelphia may come back hopefully with some of his engraved revolvers. Larry

Talked to Bob from Philadelphia tonight and he will come with another S&W collector. Asked for a good restaurant and I told him Nino’s for Italian or Neuvo Alcapulco Mexican. He’s bringing some nice guns and maybe a couple for sale. Larry

Don’t forget White Oaks in Westlake. Nearly 100 years as a restaurant. Overlooking Cahoon Creek, nice venue, dated but nice. Good menu, fair pricing. I have not been since I moved east but the last time was very nice.

We’ve eaten there a couple times on Friday evening and the food is fantastic and portions are humongous…you’ll have enough to eat for another meal.

Lost power from the storms Tuesday afternoon, had nothing tv and computer, my cellphone is one of the 'dumbphones' texting and calls only. Slept in the car back seat ( 2011 chevy HHR), idling in the driveway, lights off, air on, radio on. Did that for 4 nights. The back seat proved to be very comfortable. Wed evening called it quits early and slept late Thurs morning, 12 hours, used 1/4 tank of gas. Kept food and drink in it, sometimes went out for eats/food, not all stores/gas stations had power. I have a small refrigerator so I lost about $20 worth of groceries. The neighbor got a text from the power company stating power won't be back until Wednesday 14th. Today I had an morning event to go to and met up with MaxKimber & son. Got back home at 12:15 and power was restored at 1:15. Fired up the tv and Spectrum Box to catch up with what's going on in the world, fired up the computer-79 e-mail to go thru. Now I'm back on the forum and start continuing with the 'bunch event' PMs' tomorrow.

I've sent out 48 'bunch event notices' PM's, I've run out of good/verifiable forum names to send to. No, I haven't sent any PMs' to anyone that already knows about the event.

Of the 48, 5 made posts to the thread and 10 did a thread 'like', so only a 31% response rate. Hopefully it'll pick up.

I believe I’ll be bringing a few 27’s, a couple 28’s and one 29.

Nothing fancy or all scratched up.
