Like my recently departed uncle used to say, "It's always the right size and the right color," so I did some of my Christmas shopping at the bank today. I got 2 nice stacks of $2 bills for my nephews and 2 rolls of Golden Dollars for making an on-the-air contribution to Christmas Cash for Kids at radio station WFMD. When holidays come up sometimes the more unusual types of money tend to vanish from the banks so I figured I'd take care of these items right now. I'm pretty sure nobody else in the family will be giving out stacks of $2 bills.

That's about the only time we see $2 bills. I never see them in regular business.

Last year i went to our Local bank and asked for one hundred dollars' worth of $2 bills they said they did not have that many and they would check the other branches to see if they could come up with that many if not the would have to order from FED and if i remember right it was Two hundred dollars' worth. they did come up with the one hundred worth

Anyone who went to the Race tracks years ago before computers where you had to go to the $2 window, the $5 window and so forth will remember that the race track paid in $2 bills and dimes on winning $2 tickets. Hell, I remember when the exacta bet found it's wat down here. Was an exotic sucker bet for a long time.
You could tell who had been to the track when he was paying with dimes and $2 bills. :D

When my youngest nephew turned 21 I sent him a birthday card stuffed with 21 $2 bills. I figured nobody else in the family would do something like that. The next time I saw him I told him that now he could buy his first legal drink or make his first bet on a horse.
