fireproof gun safes
If money was no object, what large fireproof gun safe would you buy?

What is inside is worth more than a safe will cost........
Choose wisely.

If money were no object, it would be a fireproof ROOM, not a safe.

You misunderstood; I was referring to a safe only.

A late 1800's/early 1900's bank safe, placed inside a vault.

I think it depends on the fire.
If you are thinking of a house fire where the fire department will be on scene in 10 minutes there are several 1 to 2 hour rated safes.
If you are thinking of a house fire where the fire department will be on scene in a couple of days, if even then, you don't really have a choice; no stand alone safe will work and you will be better off with a bunker style room.

You could put a couple of residential fire sprinkler heads for not that much money in the gun area and it would probably be better than a fire safe. About 10 years ago I built a house for someone and the city Building Inspection Department required a whole house fire sprinkler system. The house was about 4,100 sf and the system was under 5 grand, and I was really surprised it was that cheap! If you burn up in your house it's not going to matter much if your guns don't.

Comments appreciated. I'm considering replacing a large non-fireproof safe I've had for close to forty years with something better and more secure.

You know...If the FD can save the house from burning completely and on scene fairly quickly most safes will work. I've opened a few safes that were pretty much trashed and most kept the contents relatively safe...Beemerguy was a Balto City FF and he may have seen a lot more than me. Had a big ol Browning we cut open ...No paint left really scorched. Homeowner asked if we could open it. Took the back out with an air chisel...guns were ok...papers inside were scorched around the edges. Money unburned
