I love that movie - especially the original version with the Bogart-type voice over commentary by Ford. Too bad they eliminated that in the recently released DVD version.
I remember reading about that gun years ago, but don't remember the details of what it actually was.

I remember liking the movie a whole lot, but cannot remember what the blaster shot. I think I will have to do a bit of searching now that my curiousity has been piqued.
I'm back. After a brief search, it appears that the BR Blaster shot a projectile of energy that looked like a flaming bullet. Not laserlike at all (think early Star Trek), but not quite a tracer either. I need to see if the bolt is actuated at anytime in the movie. More searching is definately necessary!
