As of lately I have been frustrated beyond believe with our outdoor Lanai cable TV box not working or cutting in/out or loosing features. Of course it always acts up when I want to watch something specific. It is the remote type of box and requires no cable to be used - simply a 120 volt outlet. All the other TV's in the house work fine and my Wi-Fi signal is a full 3 bars. After spending literally 8-9 hours on multiple days with their customer service rep's, which btw are extremely hard for me to understand, they sent me a new box and remote - received it 2 days ago.
OK, so I wired up the new box and remote yesterday, tried like hell to program it for hours - failed. Called Xfinity and they tried to get the box to work from their end - failed. Xfinity escalated it to "hi-end" Tech's, - failed. Then 2 hours later they set up an appointment for a tech to come to the house. OK - he is supposed to be here tomorrow. This morning I get a call at 8am from a "big shot" at Xfinity technical CS who says he can help me fix it right away. We tried for 75 minutes straight - failed. He then said the Tech will be here tomorrow and he should be able to get it going. OK - I go make our omelets and coffee.
Today is gorgeous outside so my wife and I decide to eat breakfast out on the Lanai. All of a sudden the TV starts playing and a picture comes on - with sound too!
I guess when the screen went to black, I forgot to turn the power off. Anyway, after umpteen hours spent on this stupid TV cable box and remote, it appears to now be working just fine. HOPEFULLY it will continue to work but I won't cancel my cable appointment until later on this evening, just incase. They never have next day appointments.
I am praying the issue was a faulty wireless box and now this new one will fix all issues. Since we live in FL we often eat outdoors and like to watch recorded Jeopardy shows - (hate commercials so I fast forward through them), the News or the Stock Market reports (not watching the Market this week - LOL)! Anyway, I am venting my frustration here! We never had extensive issues with our cable except for this particular outdoor location. I think it is cursed - lol. Well now that I feel better, hopefully the market will turn around today!
