Sometimes things work out for the best.
Within the last year two of our older cats have become very aggressive towards the other cats. The have been attacking the smaller, weaker cats causing injuries. They would often pounce on them as they were defenceless in a litter box.
Today was the day. Logan took them to a local no-kill rescue/placement shelter. They were very busy but both cats got adopted while Logan was there.
Our remaining clowder seems to have sensed their absence and are freely roaming the house.
All in all a bitter sweet day.

A strange development, for sure. Did the two cats go at each other, or did they only pick on the smaller cats? Did they ever "gang up" on another cat?

I could swear they acted in tandem taking turns as wing men.
The breaking point was last week when the aggressive Siamese cat chewed part of a smaller cat's ear tip off.

Sounds like grounds for eviction to me.

Something changed. Maybe they both felt their positions were threatened. I think adopting them out was a good call on your part. Maybe they need some peace and quiet. I know I appreciate it!
