Decided I needed to wipe my hard drive from my old computer, so I did it in style, with a .45-70 off hand at 40 yards. Who needs anti virus software?

Appears to be pretty effective. I am sure that it would work on Vista.

I downloaded 45-70 1.0 to run it but it was infected with Shoulder Smash 2.2 virus. Perhaps I'll run it through the auxiliary Contender Defender 12.0. Hope it is incompatible with Vista, in a good way.

Sir, .45 Colt also works well, and without the shoulder smash.

Hope this helps, and Semper Fi.

This is funny. I've been planning a similiar end to a couple of drives using my 460 XVR.

I doubt that the FBI's best efforts couldn't recover the data that was there. Good job.

Word to the wise: a .22LR will not consistently penetrate a standard hard drive.

I obviously needed a bigger gun.
