when I lived in Houston in the early 80's, my dad and I used to go shooting at a outdoor range and next door was a bar. I believe the same owner.

shoot, then drink a few and play pool. then we would clean guns that afternoon.

its was off of 59 and I think we took the Mount Houston exit and went east and made some turns. It was in the country area and they even had a 100 and 200 yd rifle range.

I am trying to remember the name and cannot recall it.

can any Houstonian's remember the name of the shooting range or the bar name?

I dont think its around anymore.

thanks in advance

Don't recall anyplace like that...unless your thinkin of Carter's Country.
Nice shop and range but now surrounded by subdivisions and still open.

But.. heck, in today terms you just described most the Cantina's in Houston.

xfuzz, this was in the sticks.

Carter Country was on Treshwig past the airport on this side of Houston.

it was a hole in the wall shooting range, but I had fun back then.

dawgonnit, it was east of Hwy 59.

the good ol days.

Thats not it Willie.

I recall driving on Garrett Road and then making a couple of turns.

this one may be lost.

thanks
