Question Forum Search

The old forum had a search process that gave access to old threads with all kinds of information on specific model #s in great detail. I don't see this feature available now. Was all that information lost or will it be recaptured and become available later? It was a great resource for a novice to determine current values from recent transactions and general information on a particular gun. Am I just computer illiterate? If so, someone please instruct me on how to pull up this data. Thanks.

Bob

Most of the old posts are still there. The problem is the new software's search function is virtually worthless unless you are looking for one word that is four or more letters long. Say you wanted to look for mountain guns. If you typed in mountain gun you would get a list of every post that has the word mountain or gun in it. I have heard you have to put the words in "quotation" marks but I have tried that and come up with the same responses. In short, you will have to hope you can search for a key word that will give you a good shot at finding the old posts you are looking for.

Till we improve it, I recommend bookmarking (add to Favorites) threads that hold a particular interest for you. I do realize this recommendation does NOT help with your current dilema.

Thanks for the responses. I will patiently await further improvements. Finding recent threads was a great pricing tool for the inexperienced buyer rather than relying on the prices that result from the crazy bidding on GB and Auction Arms. This forum seems to set the fair standards for worth and for the most part the sellers are reputable, at least from my limited purchasing experiences.
