JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A forgotten straw in a bagged order at Wendy's in Jonesboro cascades into two arrests and multiple felony charges, according to Jonesboro Police.
The incident report, obtained by Region 8 News, says 26-year-old Johnathan Hensley and 23-year-old Jessica Hensley were at Wendy's on South Caraway Road ordering food at the drive-thru. When the couple got their bag, it was apparently without straws for their drinks.
The report says this is when the couple became incensed. Statements say Mrs. Hensley came into the store and got into a verbal exchange with an employee. After she returned to her vehicle, store employees tell police that Mr. Hensley pointed a gun at them before getting out of the vehicle.
Written narrative says Mr. Hensley was "hopping" around the truck while pointing the gun at employees.
After leaving Wendy's, the couple was pulled over and arrested by Jonesboro Police. Police report that they recovered 2 cashiers checks totaling $500,000, $12,000 in cash, components for a meth lab and a number of prescription pills.
Johnathan Hensley is charged with aggravated assault, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms and possession with intent to manufacture - unlawful distribution, all felonies. He also faces misdemeanor charges of driving with a suspended or revoked license and tampering with physical evidence.
Jessica Hensley is not facing charges due to this incident, but was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
Mrs. Hensley tells police that the couple had received the large amount of cash from a settled lawsuit.
