I've been a little sporadic reading and posting this week due to one of our own being murdered by smugglers one week ago tonight. Still don't know all the detail and not free to share most of what I do know. I am sure most of y'all have read it in the paper or seen it on the evening news by now. Agent Rosas will be buried tomorrow, please keep his wife and two young children in your thoughts.
The FBI and all of the investigators are working leads and trying to identify who exactly pulled the trigger. The unfortunate side of this investigation is that a bunch of the suspects and witnesses made it south. That means extradition and to extradite the death penalty is off the table
.
This murder took place in the area covered by the next station east of mine, in fact the scene is less than a mile from our shared area border, probably some of the same smugglers we deal with. I will not be attending the funeral saving room for the agents who knew and worked with him, instead I will be filling in in their area of responsibilty.
The Texican in me knows exactly how I plan to start my shift, it'll probably irritate a few folks but what the hey. I plan to blast Deguello over the public address system, that oughta rattle a cage or two. Since their national history shares a slice of ours I figure that will set the mood for the day.
