Default Amana radar range problems

Hello
I have a newer microwave oven, but I kept the older Amana Radar Range just for cooking bacon, etc.
I hardly use the Amana, and the other day I noticed that the clock was dead on it. The whole panel was blank.
I tried to re set the clock, and it was dead. I checked the outlet, and there is power.
I just searched on line and could not find any information that was useful.
This is the older model with the stainless steel lining. Does anyone know if there is a fuse or a fuse able link on this oven? If so, where is it located?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I have to say I'm still using my JC Penney's microwave I bought when we had our second daughter in 1980.

Still going, just have to add a couple more minutes once in a while.

Mickey - I am not sure how old this one is. That is a long time for a micro wave to run.

Anyone know anything about the location of the fuse or fuse able link on this model?

Default While we're talking about microwaves...

... I've got about a five year old Sharp microwave that died last month. All of the controls work and the carousel turns, but it doesn't heat anything and buzzes loudly when it's "cooking".

Any ideas?

cmort666-
From what you described, it sounds like the tube is bad.
This happened to someone I know. The price of a new tube was almost as
much as a new microwave.

Probably more than the price I paid for it.

I've bought a replacement already.

Thanks.

There are two fuses inside the cabinet. One may power the timer. No schematic could be found. If you go to Sears parts site you will find all that is available.

Sorry for the small amount of help.

Good luck

Most likely it got jealous of the new microwave and decided it wasn't gonna stick around just to get all greased up by bacon...

Look for some cartrage style fuses inside AGC type about a little bigger than a 22 lr round. If those are not blown you probibly lost the power supply transformer on the controll board. The old electronics are very tough compared to the china **** today.

I would not expect a bad magnatron, cap or main transformer those would cause heating/ arching problems. You may have a simple repair on your hands good luck.
