Hello, I am looking at this picture and I am trying to see if it is like
the one I have, mine is blue and it looks almost the same,
Mine has the following on it, 38 S&W CTGE as you can tell Im not sure
what it is, the number on the butt is #390265, I called around
to see what it's worth or if it would be good to keep for home protection
Can you tell me anything about this gun,I would realy like to know what I have and what it's worth, where can I get ammo for it.

Hello, this gun is a 1880 .38 first model - s/n 767 one of 4000 made - yours is a later model of the same gun. if its nice the rate anywhere from 300- 800 but as they are fairly common they are not very expensive (yet) As for a home protection gun.. Id buy something newer, these guns are not made to handle modern ammo.
