Great holster. I can add a little interesting history if you want.
Ed McGivern had almost the identical holster which has been passed onto my family. At the time of his passing, my father was writing a book on the Topperwein's, McGivern, and other famous shooters. He included the following section about this holster:
"The final form of Meyers concealed revolver holster that is slipped into the waistband behind the belt and retained by the two snap straps. This is the finest and fastest form of concealed holster for small revolvers the writer has ever found. In the heat of Mexico, Col. Applegate wore out three of them. He wore them under a shirt and always had the gun in action when needed. When the first one wore out he had a Mexican leatherworker make him two duplicates. When I told him I had McGivern's from the Groff collection and had redesigned it to be made of modern materials and sweat proof while still releasing perspiration, he borrowed it and the sketches to show to a holster maker friend."
I don't think so. I believe Col. Applegate had his custom made. I don't have the one made of "modern materials". It may be in Arizona with some of my dad's things.
Thanks for a very interesting story,Jim.I've thought that this holster would be uncomfortable & would not be well anchored but have never actually tested it-if such luminaries as Ed McGivern & Rex Applegate liked it,it must work just fine.
