I haven’t opened my S&W OEM moon clips, but a buddy said they are probably TK. Does anyone know? BTW, I just received a bunch of the Ranch clips, and they were still producing them.

Is it a good idea to swap a used barrel onto a K frame?

You could start by polishing the barrel in place. Then, if that work doesn’t meet your needs, you could progress on to polishing with the barrel off. For me, if the current barrel installation is good, no way I would mess with it. But that’s my way of dealing with it.

Thanks, I still don’t know what the difference is (if any) but I just found the “13920” on the S&W website under their “Guardian” sales program. Which probably checks with the “LE” prefix I saw.

Interesting, if you do a search of “686 plus 13920” it shows up in at least 5-6 different sites. Maybe more. S&W 686 Plus 357 Mag 4 in. Barrel 7 Rds Stainless. Model: LEDSW13920.

I’m trying to figure out the difference between a 686 plus model# 13920 and model# 164194. The 164194 is currently on the S&W website, but the 13920 isn’t there.

I did a search, but couldn’t decide what the answer is. Can the two-piece barrels be swapped out on K-frame or J-frame revolvers? I talked to a lady at S&W who couldn’t definitively say yes, so she couldn’t give a price.
