I have sent the gun back to Smith & Wesson to have the front sight repaired as the red insert was cracked and one half missing as soon as it comes back I will post pictures of it and its 6" companion.
Thank you for the replay I think you are right as the smooth presentation grips seam to fit the description better and I have a pair in rosewood that are period correct.
I just got a letter confirming my Model 48-2 with a 4" barrel was special ordered with a Red ramp front and Fancy Target Stocks in 1966, but it did not come to me with the Target Stocks instead it has Magnas not numbered to the gun. My question is what would Smith & Wesson consider "Fancy Target...
