In MS seized guns can not be destroyed. The only way for a dept. to get rid of them is to sell them to a FFL. I've bought quite a few guns from a local police supply store that bids on lots from various departments. In the lot there may be rifles, shotguns, pistols and revolvers. Some are...
Found this 27-2 at a pawn shop while on vacation in 2019. Ended up getting it for $200 OTD due to it's barrel issue.
Found a barrel on eBay for $150 and paid a gunsmith $80 to install it. Looks a little better now.
I don't plan to do anything except change the grips and shoot it. I was surprised at the quality of the milling for the added rear sight. It's definitely not your typical bubba job.
It was $150 + tax. I'm not sure when I'll get a chance to shoot it. The kit for my shop (36'x36') is supposed to arrive next week. I'll be working on it for the next few months.
I dropped by the local police supply store to visit today. They had just gotten in a couple cardboard boxes full (75-100) of confiscated handguns guns that they had not logged in yet. I dug through them and ended up getting several. This was the only S&W I got.
It's has a 4" barrel...
Got my first Glock, a used G20, at a gun show in '97. Currently have a couple dozen of them and EDC a 43x. Have quite a few police trade-in G22's that I've put threaded barrels in and 40-9 conversion barrels, both standard length and threaded. My local police supply store used to sell them...
The Savage 170's don't show up very often especially in .35. Blue Book says they are rare. Would love to know about how many were made.
I've been lucky enough to fine one of each.
That is a beautiful Model 8 in my favorite caliber. I've never seen a Model 8 in my area. I have been lucky enough to find several .35's in local pawn shops over the years. This is an 81 and a 141 both made in Dec '42.
I read many years ago that the 81 was the only non-military rifle...
I haven's shot my .50 TC Renegade in probably 30 years. The only black power I shoot now are cartridge guns. These are trapdoors, .50-70 on top and a pair of .45-70's. The bottom one is a Remington rolling block in .43 Spanish. It has the slip on recoil pad because I had been shoot it prior...
