I'd imagine the new Mt Gun will handle up to 45 ACP plus pressure like the older ones do. Have an older Handloader article by Brian Pierce that blueprints the loads & what's safe. The higher end cast Keith type bullet loads were plenty powerful.

Got a look at the new MG in 22 yesterday, they are nicely put together. The grips felt a bit odd in the hand other than that a nice k frame with the expanded ammo onboard

So who here would give up (as in sell) their vintage S&W Model 18 to finance a new Mt Gun in 22 LR?
Mine is a keeper, it shoots CCI subsonic HP into tiny groups and kills grouse & pesky Montana Turkeys with headshots aplomb.
I'd look at a new manufactured Mountain Gun in 45 Colt for sure, but...
If they come out with this one next I'm going to pick one up. Hopefully they'll have all their production issues ironed out. And will have the correct cylinder throat, forcing cone & bore diameters to shoot cast bullets well right out of the box

cowboy, thanks for the comparison. I've looked at a new 4.25" kk a few times locally and have come to the conclusion it's too much like a J frame for me to really like. At almost 1k and needing bigger aftermarket grips it's not really a fit for me
