    3 years in the Army - field artillery. Short stint as a LEO for DOD. And 30 years as a marine electrician. That is an electrician that works on ships, mostly big grey ones with a number painted on the hull.

    686+ or 1911

    I carry my S&W mod 1911CT in a shoulder rig and have a 686-6 (4inch) in my nightstand. I'm happy with both, but the .45 does get a little on the heavy side after 8 or 9 hours.

    I have been running my RL550B for about 3 years. I agree with everything said above, but I would add a bullet puller to the list. If you are like me, feces will occur. If you can pull the bullet, you can salvage the components.

    Just wanted to say hello. I have owned a model 1911CT in stainless for about 2 years and absolutely love the firearm! I'm in the process of buying a 686 (my very first wheel gun). I'm looking foreword to learning as much as i can on this board!
