My no thumb safety 3.6" was in the same black plastic box my 4" no thumb safety model came in. The foam was cut out for the 4" barrel, so I guess they didn't have foam inserts made for the shorter barrel.

I bought a 2.0 Compact 4" for $419.99 at a local LEO supplier. It came with 3 magazines so it was a better deal than $399.99 online for a "civilian" model. But the only blue label 3.6" has night sights and the best I could do is $500+tax locally so I found a civilian version for $399.99...

The 4" is available with or without night sights, I bought one without. What's strange is that S&W is only offering the 3.6" with night sights for the Individual Officer Program. Most IOP guns come with 3 magazines instead of 2. The 2.0 Compacts come with 3 mags.
