    removal of broken extractor rod

I don't believe I have seen it mentioned but I would suggest when working with this cylinder problem that you keep the cylinder full of empty cases to protect that extractor from getting twisted when working with it. I agree that a good machinist will be your best bet when trying to get that...

    Glad you enjoyed it.

    lament on old age.

Too soon old and too late smart. At 79 I discovered that my mind and body got divorced without telling me. My mind says we are going to do such and such. My body says what are you thinking? You're gonna kill both of us. LOL

    RANT--USPS--UNBELIEVABLE ENCOUNTER X 3

Well folks, at 79 I thought I had lived long enough to see it all. I was wrong, very wrong. I wasn't raised to complain but to change things if something didn't work or go your way. Well, I can't change this and the enormity of the stupidity of this is so beyond belief I thought I would advise...

    Anybody else watch this one?

Well at least we know one buyer that has the money to match his testosterone. When I see something I want I ask myself if I have the money. If the answer is yes I then ask myself if I should.it makes me set aside the i.pulse a lot of the time.

    Skeeter Skelton's 44 special load

GUNHOHULK, reference post #46.For best results try that 7.5gr "under" the bullet. LOL Could not resist. Take care and have as much fun as you can with that load. I've used it and it is a thumper. I would not use it in the older 2nd models., especially if they fall under the ser. # of where they...

I let one get away yesterday…

I remember an article by Skeeter Skelton about him and a friend buying and selling a gun several times between themselves and Skeeter telling him he wanted to buy it back and his friend telling him he sold it to someone else. Skeeter replied" why did you do that?. We were making a good living...

Nice CM. Those stocks wouldn't bother me one whit. Nicely done.

New to me 1951 K22 Masterpiece Pre 17

Nice gun. Leave the originals on it unless they interfere somehow with using it. A K frame Smith is a delight no matter the configuration.

What's the most reliable vehicle you've owned?

There is an old saying that "Lucas invented darkness". My brother had a TR6 and it was problematic. The other saying was that "The Brits would export TV's but they couldn't get them to leak oil". LOL

What's the most reliable vehicle you've owned?

2005 Toyota 4Runner, 4.0 v6 engine. Bought it new, still have it with 362,000 miles on it. Replaced radiator, alternator, hoses, brakes, ,calipers, rotors (wife doesn't know how to derive a car and never will, goes speed limit up to a red light and stands on the brakes. Drives me nuts.) Regular...

    New owner 38/44 Outdoorsman

I think someone did a cutout for ejection purposes on the grip. Sort of a easyway to doo it, just make it square, sort of. Nicely done though. The front sight looks as if someone put a rifle bead front sight in the ramp. The rear sight...well that is a different rascal altogether as it would...

The Wadcutter for Self-Defense: Over-hyped or not?

Lots of good info. No guarantees no matter the gun or ammo. Too much dynamics. Only real world knowledge I have is as a Reserve Deputy and a robbery & homicide at a convenience store late at night. Robber-murderer borrowed a Colt Detective Special in 38 Spl and loaded with wadcutters. Shot the...

UPDATE; POST 62 MODEL 67 BARREL DEPARTED ON 3RD SHOT

Well, my friend gor his letter from Smith on his model 67 regarding the separated barrel. The last word was it was in the metallurgy department. Apparently it passed the metallurgy testing and no issues were found with the specifications of the gun. Bottom line is they will repair the gun for...

    My New .22LR is a N Frame

I knew a collector once and while discussing one of his guns he handed me what I believed was a #3 American (?) I am not versed at all in that era. Anyway he said to open it up and when I did it was chambered in 22lr. I asked if that was a conversion and he advised that it was. Being a shooter I...
