I talked to Frank at LSG Manufacturing in Texas and he said that it was covered under warranty and is going to send me a shipping lable. Thanks for the help anyway. I just thought it would be a good excuse to learn somthing new. I'll save the info about the barrel blocks for when i need it.

thank you, those pics help alot. they have this stuff at brownells to mold barrel vise bushings. i think it's like an epoxy putty or somthing. I'll try to make a set with that.

i have seen it done by hand on aluminum and steel frames. if you want a bobtail without paying for one already done, you could get a cheaper 1911 and do it yourself.

is this big of a b/c gap unheard of or somthing ? you guys sound like your in disbelief :confused:

i checked the measurements more times than i can remember and they are the same every time. b/c is .015 and endshake is .008. I just looked under the top strap and can see minor flame cutting also :eek: should the s&w cover the repair
