Thanks. Its not totally unexpected, I had a similar experience when buying my first mt bike. the 'pros' (i.e. kids working just for the gear discount) also had a bit of snobbery to novices. Of course you cant really use a bike to defend yourself in a shoot out, but I guess i'm just old fashioned...
