    Military Service Records

I returned for ETS in May 1968. We were very strongly advised to take our DD214 for registration at our county court house. I did.

    Cataract Surgery Question

Did all that over the past year. Lifelong nearsighted with astigmatism. Reg eye Doc sent me to specialist. He offered me lenses to fix astigmatism, I jumped right away. I was not a textbook case, but made it through. Ciot $995 PER EYE. I do not now need glasses for distance, but need them...

    Seecamp 32

I've had man a while, so likely a Milford. Picked up that PMC .32 was shootable, and it is. Not a pistol you need to shoot much, or at the range for score.

    Any PPK fans out there?

Ja, I have a half dozen or so. All German> OK, or French. First one was one of those post Olympics ex cop PPs that were so cheap at Interarms when Kamarad upgunned. And none of them want to slice my mid size hands. They seldom go to movies, but like to be fondled and even shot.

    Restroom Protocol

Spartan Stadium in East Lansing, Nearly every Guesthouse in Germany, and I heard Army/Marines version first. Nuff said. Post prostate help, I found myself wishing for a taller front sight. My seat goes down to prevent future unfortunate sit down mishaps.

When Elvis died, do you remember when/where you first heard it

Young wife stood in line for second Sagianw concert. He paid me back by dying on my birthday. I get to thank and remember him every year since.

So, what is a combat vet???

Hopefully not much off topic. I was a US assigned to Germany., mid-late 60s) Troops rotated in all the time. Guys from Nam wore their division (or other) patch on their right sleeve. No idea if there was a procedure or process for that. Now and then a CIB would show up too. We were Combat...

    Help, you air gun guys.....

I have the Hatsan 95, and think it is fine. I wound up with the springer, not gas just because a refurb deal turned up. Do put some effort into the scope decision. Plenty of grunt for vermin and critters with .22.

    Georgian Wine

Enlisted, newly married and living off base, young wife and I were smack dab int he middle of German wine country in the last part of the 60s. WooHoo! Landlord had some barrels of 56er in the basement he was trying to make something of. Worst wine year since the War. MY GI German let me know...

What Handgun Used in Bear Attack

Yup, old family story when Grandpa Aggie was picking huckleberries in the swampy end of their retirement lake In SW Michigan, early 50s. Face to face on one bush. Whoa, and the bear ran one way and Gramdpa the other.

    NEED SOME SUGGESTIONS

I live sorta in the woods. Have had a manual saw/lopper for years. Good buddy bought a Ryobi pole chain saw, 40v. I sued it happily and successfully. Beats that wobbly, tiring manual sawing stuff.

    Black and White 40s-50' Serials

Thanks for the trip back to the early '50s! I was there, waiting with the test pattern for TV to come on after school. My Captain Midnight mug went when Mom sold the cottage. Paid dearly for a replacement much later. Captain Video and the Video Rangers. Tom Corbett too. Great fun!

    A hard-to-find as-issued relic of WWII..

Saginaw knew how to build metal stuff in quantity.. IP did not. I met the guy who went to GR to make things right. Pretty sure it was well written up in one of Ruth's book. Bud Doerfner. Hope my spelling recollection is right.
