It's useful in that it helps to document various sell dates, but as you state since the bugs are worked out, it's limited to someone purchasing a used firearm knowing when the various numbers were being sold.

sightmark i have the sightmark ultra shot pro spec NV QD and it gets the job done, nice piece of hardware for the price and i also have the sightmark 5X tactical magnifier (with slide to side) as well. when i want distance, just use the QD to take off the sightmarks and place a Nikon 3-9x40...

I had multiple trips to the range with similar problems, both FTF and FTE issues and I tried at least a dozen different types of ammo, frequently leaving an entire brick (or what was left of a 500 round box after having multiple failures). Since yours was used and we don't know the manufacture...
