Raised in my father's one man shop, when I was 18 he went for a back operation and ended up getting paralyzed in the lower legs. I took over the shop and was excempted from the draft as sole support of the family. Got bored working on car and trucks 7 days a week. Bought and restored an old backhoe then started doing little jobs. Studied engineering books and heavy construction. Continued to grow and sometimes had a 6 month backlog.
