    Light Strike Malfunctions

If the excess Ballistol in the frame is causing you any concern, just grab a can of compressed air and blow out what you can. Just be sure not to shake the can or hold it upside down while spraying. You don’t want anything to freeze and possibly crack. L8R, Matt

    SD40VE Polymer Frame Crack (gunsmithing)

The only changes I made to my SD40VE was the Apex trigger spring kit, and the Galloway extended take down plate. I got ahold of S&W quite a while back and asked about how to buy a replacement guiderod assembly, and they sent me one free of charge. L8R, Matt

Can the California model SDVEs accept standard cap. mags?

Yes they do. The only difference between them are the low capacity mags have a crimp line so the follower can’t be loaded past the 10 round limit. Everything else about the mags are identical. L8R, Matt

    S&W SD40 VE Problem

At least you found the issue. The only other thing I could think of was maybe the green spring had a crack in it. I was also thinking about getting a SS guiderod assembly a couple years ago, but read about too many people having issues because of them. I emailed S&W a while back and they sent me...

    New SD9VE

I did the Apex spring kit in my SD40VE, and it dropped the pull down to just over 6 lbs. I still have the stock trigger in it. I carry my Walther PPS M2 since I bought it a year and a half ago, but still carry the SD from time to time. L8R, Matt

    S&W SD40 VE Problem

Did you remove the takedown plate at any time, or did this just all of a sudden start happening? L8R, Matt

Sd40ve won't dry fire after cocked back

I can't remember, but is it the California and Massachusetts SDs that have this feature? L8R, Matt

    First holster(IWB)

A few weeks late, but I carry my SD40VE in a Raw Dog IWB holster. I've carried it in that for a couple years and from Ohio to Myrtle Beach and back on vacation in complete comfort. The Alien Gear may spread the weight around a little better, but Raw Dog's single clip makes it a lot easier to put...

I carry mine in a Raw Dog IWB holster. I've worn it in the car from Ohio to Myrtle Beach and back in comfort. L8R, Matt

    Conceal carry

I carry my SD40VE almost daily. Unless I'm wearing a pair of pants that are a bit snug then I go with the Ruger LC9S. I carry my SD40VE in a Raw Dog IWB holster with no trouble. I've carried it on vacation from Ohio to Myrtle Beach and back in total comfort while wearing shorts and a t shirt...

    Sd9ve vs sigma ve

I sent S&W an email a while back about how to get a replacement guide rod assembly for my SD40VE, and they sent me one for free. That's the best price I've found anywhere. L8R, Matt

    SD40VE value

I bought my SD40VE new 2 1/2 years ago, and I spent either $352 or $354 after taxes. Definitely better deals to be had now, but I still love my SD. Do I want other pistols? Yep! Do I want to get rid of my SD? Nope! I carry it almost daily... L8R, Matt

M&P Rear Sight On My SD9VE

I drop filled my front sight with Testors fluorescent orange model paint. That really helped it stand out to my eyes. And it was only $2! L8R, Matt
