    442 vs 642

Just curious, for the ones who have owned both the 442 and 642 did you notice picking up the front ramp sight quicker on one compared to the other?

    442 vs 642

Thanks for the replies. I’m a “cop” (detective) as well. I’m hoping to carry a it as a backup as well. I’m really worried about the flaking on the 642 as it seemed to be an issue for some. I appreciate all the replies. I’m set on the 442 PC.

    442 vs 642

Good Afternoon All, It’s been a while since I last posted. I’m looking to add to my collection. Torn between a 442 Performance Center model 12643 (Crimson Trace LG105 grip) or a 642 Performance Center model 10186 (synthetic/wood grip). I’ve done a bunch of comparisons. Does the old hold...

    M&P 340 vs 340PD

I wish price were lower on both so I could buy both shoot both side by side and make a decision. I’ve had 2 M&P 340s and had a 442 PC. I do remember the 442 PC trigger being noticeably lighter and smoother but of course the sight was the downside.

    M&P 340 vs 340PD

Given the lighter weight for carrying and XS front sight I was fully committed to coughing up $230 more for the M&P 340 vs a 642 Performance Center. With a steady diet bulk 38 rounds for the range and qualifications and carrying Gold Dot 38 special +p 135 grain GDHP would it be better to stick...

    M&P 340 vs 340PD

The issued ammo for on duty (backup) and off duty is Gold Dot 38 special +p 135 grain GDHP. It would be beneficial for me to carry this load off duty as well due to being covered by LEOSA if I travel out of Virginia.

    M&P 340 vs 340PD

Thanks for the reply. I did notice what you pointed out about the extraction with my last M&P340. Should have kept it but wanted a Sig 365 so I sold it.

    M&P 340 vs 340PD

Good Morning All, After the input on the 642 vs M&P 340, I decided to go with the M&P 340. From here, I’ve started to look at the 340PD. It looks like the overall consensus is don’t get it if you plan on shooting full load 357. In my case I will not be. It will be a back up conceal carry gun...

    642 PC vs M&P 340

Looking at the cost, it’s more effective for the 642 PC. I would actually save $250+ on the gun itself and another $150 if I wanted to send the M&P 340 to Performance Center for the tuned action. Wish I could just pick up both.

    642 PC vs M&P 340

Thanks for all the responses. Sorry for the acronym. It was he failed to fire, the cylinder would move and the trigger wouldn’t pull. It was witness by the range instructor who was administering my qualification. It happened once more once I got it back, I decided I didn’t want to mess with...
