I agree completely. It also wipes off with a shop rag and can aid in cleaning the outside of the case.

W540 is the exact same powder as HS-6 and HS-7 is W571. Both powders are slow ball powders which will benefit from a magnum class primer. I really like like HS-6/7 for cast bullet .357 magnum ammo. As a side, HS-7 is a great choice for loading 10mm ammo too.

Coated bullets will be fine in your Colt. If the price is right, do it...

If I didn't reload would be buying when prices drop. Never a bad idea if you can buy and still pay the bills too...

Imperial Sizing Wax is the best commercial lube available on the market IMO.

If you use Unique give Universal a try as a substitute. The It was developed to mimic Unique. W244 is a good substitute for W231.

I don't know why Blue Dot has lost interest in the 357 Magnum but it has. I have never used it so I can't comment on the combination.

W296/H110, Enforcer, AA#9, Power Pro 300-MP, #11FS are the most popular full powder magnum powders but I may have missed some.

Just to go along with the fun topic, IMO pure silver bullets will cost way too much. I would want a lead cast bullet plated with silver. I'm sure that would dispense with any werewolf looking to do harm! (an early Happy Halloween everyone. :) )

I like Fiocchi primers a lot. They are a very good product, reliable and clean too. Back when the crunch started I bought a bunch and was happy with the results. I wish I would have bought many more.

Hodgdon/IMR not only discontinued IMR Red but all the IMR (Colors) so using Clay Dot probably isn't a good idea if you find any. What's wrong with using the originals instead of the copies? Red Dot/Promo are very economical powders to load with.

I have never heard of full size ammo or compact ammo. What does that even mean?

For light hunting I would use the flat point or even better, a 255gr LSWC bullet. I like the SWC because the sharp shoulder cuts right through the flesh and does all the damage.

That's much better than my last purchases @$20/k.
