    Excellent transaction with villedetwink!

Great recommendation, but have no clue what he does or what part of the country you’re in! Need more info. Thanks.

    IWB Hybrid Holster Question

I've worn an AG Cloak Tuck for about a year now. You will get used to it. I've learned for different styles of pant where to position the front clip in relation to the pocket. Once you do that, it's easy to reach around to clip the back clip. Once you find that sweet spot, the holster is...

    My Sunday Range Session

I don't think any of us bought a Shield for competitive shooting. I own mine for EDC and that's the way I practice with them at the range. But, you can definitely get 2-3" groups with them with practice. I have a 9mm and .45 and am very happy with the performance of both. Alan

    M&P 2.0 and Shield 9mm

What's the question? To me the Shield in any caliber is an EDC self defense weapon. I don't expect competition groupings. Looks like you did well. Alan

    S&W M&P45 45ACP Night Sights 4 1/2" NMS

Same here as the 1911 is my at home piece. The thing I failed to mention is that I can go between my 1911 and Shield seamlessly. For me, the stock trigger on both of my Shields has a pull that just feels right after 40 years of shooting 1911's. I can go to the range, pick up either weapon and...

    S&W M&P45 45ACP Night Sights 4 1/2" NMS

S&W M&P45 45ACP Night Sights 4 1/2" NMS I carried a Colt Defender in .45 for years, and have had 1911 Colts since the 70s. But when I retired 3 years ago and started a more casual lifestyle wearing shorts a lot, the Colt was a little heavy. I bought an M&P Shield in 9mm and that...

Winchester White box and your semiautomatic

I've experienced occasional FTE's in my series 70 1911 Colt and my Ruger P85 with white box, but had no problem in my other .45 or 9mm autos like the Shield. Gun specific for me. Alan

    Break in ammo

Shouldn't matter, though I do typically run FMJ thru a new auto before using JHP. That's more me than any tried and true rule, though. Feed ramp shouldn't care which you use. Alan

    Shooting brand new shield 45

Don't let him shoot it again![emoji6] Alan

Thnking about a Shield. Need advice.

The only issue I had was replacing magazine spring which was shipped right out to me. Otherwise I now have close to 800 rounds through my 9mm and love it. At 7-10 yds it'll do whatever groups you want. I was just with my son and he shot it for the first time. Was off on his first shot and every...

Smacking the base of a mag

No, you cannot smack clips but mags are acceptable.[emoji6] Alan

    M&P Shield 9mm barrel play?

A little barrel play seems normal to me as well. As for accuracy, if this is your first sub-compact, you just need to work with it as you would any new weapon. Because of the lighter weight it means you must make some adjustments. Mine will do 4" groups at 10 yards all day long and that is good...

    M&P 40 compact - Guidance

+1... If he can handle, wear and shoot it before hand, that's always a plus! Ultimately what you like may not be what he likes....even if he initially thinks he does. We've all bought one thinking we'd love it, and it sits unused, or gets sold quickly. Alan

IWB Holster for Shield 9mm That Covers Mag Release

Iv'e carried IWB for years with various autos and have never had an issue with engaging the mag release. YMMV. Alan

Rounded off rear hex sight screw

I initially though screw extractor, but that's going to take an awfully small one. I once had a similar issue on my motorcycle and was able to cut a small slot in the head using a Dremel tool, then use a standard screwdriver to remove it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
