    If you already have a fixed stock then nothing changes. If you're going from a collapsible stock to fixed then you need a standard A1 or A2 buffer tube AND the S&W spacer. With those things you can reuse the stock spring and buffer that came with your collapsible stock. I did this on mine...

    To each his own, but I've NEVER had a pmag break and they have ALL out performed every steel mag I've ever owned. What you call expensive plastic is a highly researched polymer that can be run over with a truck, shot, and still function. I'd like to see someone break one just by stepping on it.

    Buffer/tube question

    Using the A2 buffer and spring may cause cycling issues. The buffer (weight) and spring are proprietary to S&W and are the exact specs needed to cycle the bolt. As the previous poster said, check out the Stock Options thread, it's all there.
