Here's a pic of the proof mark behind the cylinder release slide.

They look like the video but with one end removed. Also the S&W medallion is worn down gold.

Not sure they are British marks or not, but this gun has one marking and it's behind the cylinder open/push screw on left side and its at the back of the frame. Also made in U.S.A., on the right side i front/top side to trigger.

Hey guys, I just got this revolver and know very little about it. Any one know was model this is. It is marked on the right side barrel with some sort of marking then 38 S&W CTG and then that marking again. Left side is Smith & Wesson. Top has S&W Sprinfield Mass., below that patented Feb 6...

There is numbers marked on the front of the cylinder and on the grip frame, # 343 on both. The hammer looks like a bent triangle, coming to a sharp point, would that be for a centrefire casing. Thanks

Hey Folks, looking at a revolver to buy and I am not very knowledgeable with this line of revolvers. I think the 10 is the model number and the "v" is how S&W kept track of the frame variations, is this correct? The owner says it's a 6 number serial # with a v, not sure what that means other...
