Not sure if this has been completely answered. A .40 barrel will not lock up in a 9mm slide since the ejection port on the 9mm slide is actually smaller than that of the .40S&W slide. Some people have suggested you can trim some of the barrel hood off the .40 barrel to make it fit but you...
I have the option of getting a Shield from my local GS. They have both the 9mm and .40 in stock. Here's my dilemma. I have both the FS and Comp in .40 should I stick with consistency and go with the .40 or get the 9mm? Has anyone shot both to compare them? I've heard that the .40 Shield is a lot...
If you insert an empty mag into the mag well you cannot remove the slide as it will get caught on the mag follower. If you have the mag saftey you can insert a finger into the mag well and defeat the mag saftey and be able to remove the slide by pulling the trigger instead of using the sear...
Took my M&P 40c to my gunsmith to check out and polish the barrel. He said he couldn't find anything really wrong with the gun but couldn't explain the feed issues. He said he had another customer with the same gun so he tried his mags in mine and it worked perfectly. Should I call S&W and have...
Correction to AGK's post. The guy behind the counter was partly correct. That is where the internal trigger lock "keyhole" would be if the gun was equipped with it. Some states require these for guns to be sold legally in their state some do not. If it was plugged then that particular gun did...
had my gunsmith look at it and he determined that the ammo was just a hair too short and was causing a necking problem. He's going to polish the barrel and feed ramp next time I'm out at the range. Tried some Reminton JHP's and they chamber fine though.
Called S&W today and they said to send it back. Turnaround time would be approx 3-4 weeks. Not sure I want to be without my EDC for that long. If I had my gunsmith look at it would that void any warranty.
It hangs up both either using the slide release and the slingshot method. Haven't had a chance to go out and shoot it. Darn Ohio weather just isn't cooperating. When I pull back slightly on the slide the back of the cartridge jumps into place and then goes into battery. Then the next round will...
Have only had it for shy over a week. Didn't want to have to consider sending it back in so soon. Like you FMJ's feed but the HP's don't. I did notice 2 scratches along the top of the casing where it feeds into the barrel about 1/8th apart. Might have a small burr.
First post so be gentle. Just purchased a new 40c for my EDC. When loading and function testing my defense ammunition it has not been loading the cartidge into battery. I will start stripping it from the mag but then jams before entering the chamber. Was told that the feed ramp might need some...
