Remembering back over 40+ years ago, it didn't seem like the M14 had that much recoil to it but it was probably a much heavier rifle. I can shoot my M-4 all day and never notice it. Thanks for your response, I will try the past pad and see how it works out. May look into the hydraulic recoil...
