    Mags for M -1 carbine

I was Issued and trained on 30 carbines in the U.S. Air force from '61 to '68 and in '68 when I got to Phu Cat Vietnam I was handed an M16. First Sergeant handed me a piece of paper and said if we were about to be overrun to come to the orderly room and they would issue me my M16 and 80 rounds...

    Was there a 4 inch barrel 5 Screw K22?

In 1986 Smith & Wesson introduced a 17-4, a 4" heavy barrel w/serrated ramp on ramp base in place of the M-18. @ The Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson. Luckily I have one. SWCA 892

    House fire gun

I had a friend give me a M1 Garand receiver from a rifle that had been in a house fire. I took it and had a hardness test done and the outcome was that it had not lost it hardness. I built it into a BM59 and it functions just fine with no problems. SWCA 892

SW model 24-3 extractor star issue

Sounds to me like Dirty ammo. Not outside but unburnt powder falling under the extractor when you dump the emptys. Try holding the revolver upright when you extract, not pointing towards the ground, That way unburnt powder should stay in the shell casings. Change brand of Ammo or if you...

    local primers

I seller is a regular at gunshows, The box of CCI I bought looks new, not shop worn. I have no Idea where he picked up his stock but usually doesn't carry alot of reloading stuff. If I see him at the Seguin gunshow I'll probably buy more primers and he had some accurate #9, I'll have to check...

    1955 Target Model

I had a 25-2 that I shot and really liked then I lucked into a 5 screw in a little country town gunshop. $400 out the door. Shot it a little then decided I didn't need two. I loaned the -2 to a friend and two weeks later when he brought it backed he said he was real impressed with the...

    Purchased "REVOLVER, LIGHTWEIGHT. M13" Today

I didn't know about U.S. M-13s until I was in a pawnshop and picked up this really light smith snubby. It was cheap because the finish was worn. saw the M-13 on the top strap , the U.S. Airforce property had been scrubed from the backstrap. Still it had not been demilled. I assume it had been...

Is anyone out there still able to convert a Model 28 to 44 Special?

In The middle 70s I picked up a M-28 that someone had screwed up the barrel trying to drill out a stuck bullet. In those days there was a gunsmith in Bear , Deleware that converted Smiths. Or as in my case I sent the barrel and cylinder to him to be converted to 45 Colt. Just a matter of...

Recommendation for entry level Target Pistol in 22LR

I have a Smith 41 and a 22a, I don't know if they still make the 22a but mine was $1.60 new when I bought it. Mine is very accurate and the trigger almost as good as my 41 and it is not as picky on ammo as the 41. SWCA 892

    Another disappointing gun show

Ok, I haven't had any luck with finding Smiths for my collection the last few weeks. I have picked up 2 Remington 51s (.32 and 380) Two Colt Police positives (.32 New Police and .38 S&W) 1 Makarave (SP) And today a Winchester M-64 which I really didn't need but the price was crazy low. SWCA 892
