Want to get yourself frustrated? Just try to teach someone proper screw tightness!

Random thoughts. Someone smarter than me recommended Vibra-Tite VC-3 reusable threadlocker for firearms. When using oil-grease-anti-seize on fasteners you need to decrease torque by a significant amount to prevent stretching them. Just because you have gotten away with not adjusting the torque...

Damn foxes stealing my flip flops

Near a town that work took me to frequently there were a lot of beautiful ring-neck pheasants. Then foxes started showing up. Cool. One year later there were lots of foxes but pheasants had become rare.

    Potent bear spray?

That's where I read it! Seeing the book probably triggered the memory.

    Potent bear spray?

Somewhere I read there was an old Indian saying about bears' olfactory capabilities. A pine needle fell The eagle saw it The deer heard it The bear smelled it

    Potent bear spray?

Ever hear of pepper foam? Its purpose is to be clingy and sticky. We had a dog get into a car door pocket, pull out a can of PF and puncture it while we were out of the car. 700 miles from home. Hilarity ensued...

    Driving through a non-reciprocal state?

The Safe Passage Act has been violated many times. There is no question we have politically motivated prosecutors and police departments, power mad police officers, profiling of out of state vehicles for guns, cash, drugs and so on. Civil forfeiture is big, big business. Some PDs have awards for...

    Potent bear spray?

I invested in UDAP spray and practice cannisters because IMO at that time their hard plastic holster had the fastest draw on the market. Keeping the spray in a day pack or buried in a pocket is not much different than leaving it at home. A clumsy textile holster with, for instance, Velcro tabs...

    Driving through a non-reciprocal state?

And this, boys and girls, is why you don't get legal advice online.

Anybody used Inceptor ARXor NovX Engagement Extreme?

My limited experience with ARX ammo is in a .38 Special. Very light recoil.

Bishop, CA… a favorite place and plenty of BLM/Forrest land to shoot.

As lovely as the Owens Valley is now, imagine it before Los Angles stole all the water from Owens Lake in the 1920s.

Recovered 5906 damaged by the police.

I have a low opinion of people that leave guns unattended in cars unless they have something at least as secure as a Console Vault. The usual excuses are 'I didn't think it would happen to me,' 'no problem, it was a cheap gun,' 'we never lock our doors,' 'I don't want to have to take it in the...

    Ethical Question

I had a Mauser with swastika stamps. It had problems and I gave it away to someone that could use the parts. Was it involved in any atrocities? Who knows? It was merely an inanimate object. The Early 20th Century Japanese likely murdered more civilians than the Nazis. The Red Chinese and...

    CHOOSE KITCHEN KNIVES WISELY!

I have encountered a few SS knives that are too gooey to take a keen edge. First one was a Schrade+ steel that neither I nor another guy that sharpens blades could get to take a keen edge. Next are the Gerber whitewater-diving knives my wife and I have.
